Home Again

14 Mar

Its Sunday evening and we are home after a weekend at our son’s home. We left after work yesterday with tools in hand to spend the weekend helping him work on his home. He bought a fixer-upper in October. We’ve been busy and so has he since he bought it so there hasn’t been much time with both our schedules to work on the home. We installed his water softner and worked on trim in his bedrooms. He has been living in his livingroom and is looking forward to moving his bed into his bedroom after his carpet is installed.

Its good to leave home once in awhile to gain new perspective and new energy. Today was the first day in six days that I saw blue skies and the sun. Life is good and much better when we can share it with those we love. Its been an interesting year for me as all of my children are grown with the last one graduating from high school last May. I thought that it would be hard to have them grow up , move out, and on in their lives but not as hard as I thought it would be. It is fun to watch them branch out into areas that interest them and excel in their jobs. Each of them are unique individuals with many talents and are a joy to have around.

When you are young parents you wonder how you will ever know what the right thing to do is when you raise your children. They don’t come with a instruction manual. You make mistakes as parents and you hope that they won’t damage them for life. You do the best that you can with what you know or think to be right. It doesn’t alway work out the way you plan, but God is good and watches over them.

No Sunday night blues tonight! Have a great week, Jeanne
